The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has fined Kano Pillars the sum of N1 million after jubilant fans believed to be supporters of the club invaded the pitch to celebrate the ‘Masu gida’ boys’ winning goal against Rivers United at the Sani Abacha Stadium Kano.
In a keenly contested Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) week four match played last Sunday, Pillars talismanic captain, Rabiu ‘Pele’ Ali broke the deadlock in the second minute of second half added time to hand his side the maximum points.
Soon after the much awaited goal was scored, ecstatic fans of Pillars ran into the pitch in wild jubilation thereby delaying the restart of the match.
Therefore, the NPFL in a summary jurisdiction has queried Pillars for breaching rule number B13.18 and subsequently slammed a N1 million fine against the club.

Pillars are given a 14-day deadline for the payment of the fine and issued a stern warning against further breaches of NPFL rules.
Meanwhile, the Technical Adviser of Pillars, Coach Abdul Maikaba has expressed happiness over the win against Rivers United.
He also said the encounter will linger in his memory for a long time, considering the manner in which they secured the victory.
Maikaba, however, said Pillars’ major undoing against Rivers United was lack of experience which he said made his players waste so many scoring opportunities.
The ‘Sai Masu Gida’ will be away to Rangers in MatchDay 5 this weekend.
