The Member representing Duguri/Gwana in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Bala Abdullahi Dan, in collaboration with the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre, Jos, Plateau State, has disbursed tricycle wheelchairs to 100 of his constituents living with disability.
Speaking during the disbursement ceremony in Duguri in Alkaleri LGA at the weekend, Dan, who noted that people living with disability faced numerous challenges as most of them were from poor families, added that they were the most ignored people even though they were people with special needs.
Dan, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, promised to further support the education of the people in that category.
He advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the donation by going back to school and engaging in economic activities in order to earn legitimate livelihoods.

In his remarks, the Director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre, Barrister Ayuba Burki Gufwan, reiterated the commitment and desire of the centre in improving the quality of lives of disabled persons by ensuring that they enjoyed their full rights and privileges as citizens.
