Lagos: PDP’s Jandor files 34 grounds of appeal against tribunal verdict

The Lagos PDP candidate in the 2023 governorship election, AbdulAzeez Adediran (JANDOR) yesterday filed an appeal challenging the September 25th ruling of the State Election Petition Tribunal.

Adediran in the appeal dated October 13, expressed dissatisfaction in the judgment of the lower court, describing the verdict as a miscarriage of Laws and therefore asked the Court of Appeal to set aside the judgement of the tribunal.

In his notice of appeal, he said the Tribunal erred in law and thereby reached a wrong conclusion when it dismissed the petition he lodged to challenge the qualification of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC who was announced as the winner of the election.

SPONSOR AD

He also faulted the tribunal for striking out from his petition, Mr Gbedebo Rhodes-Vivour, the candidate of the Labour Party in the election, saying since he also alleged that the sponsorship of Rhodes-Vivour, was also invalid, the Tribunal must also invalidate his candidacy.

Jandor, however, prayed the Court of Appeal to agree with his prayers by disqualifying the APC and LP candidates while declaring their votes wasted.

Head, Media and Communications, JANDOR4GOVERNOR Campaign Organization, Gbenga Ogunleye said, “By this action, JANDOR has reaffirmed his commitment to birth a breath of fresh air in governance in Lagos State by ensuring the provisions of the constitution and the electoral law as regards the election of a truly qualified governor is upheld.”
