Kano State Police Command says it has arrested three arm robbery suspects and recovered N611,000 and six empty shells of AK-47 rifle at Garko LGA.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdulahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the arrest followed an intelligence-led operation.
He said, “A report was received from one Nura Ibrahim of Kankiya Village, Garko LGA that while on his way to Kaduna for his business, he was ambushed and attacked at as he was trekking from his residence to the main road and was robbed of N2, 900,000, leaving him with injuries on his head.
“On receipt of the report, the victim was rushed to Garko Hospital and a team of policemen led by Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Garko Division , was mobilised to the scene.

“Intelligence-led operations led to the arrest of a suspect; Sunusi Yusuf, 25 and his friend of the same address to the victim.”
Kiyawa added that a discrete investigation led to the arrest of the remaining suspects; Sunusi Abubakar, 21, and Nasiru Ibrahim, 22, all of various addresses.
He said Sunusi Yusuf confessed that he was a friend of the victim and operates the same business, adding that having known that his friend had a large sum of money in his possession; he conspired with two armed robbers, attacked and robbed him of the money.
