The police in Niger State have arrested one Ahmed Abubakar Aliyu for allegedly stealing two female horses in Bida, headquarters of Bida LGA of Niger State.
The spokesperson of the Niger state police command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, said the suspect was arrested after the owner of the horses lodged a complaint of missing horses at a farm in Chegungi area of Bida.

Abiodun said, “On 04/10/2023 at about 1430hrs, a case of missing horses from a farm at Chekungi village via Bida was reported at ‘A’ Div Bida, that on 03/10/2023 at about 2110hrs, two female horses were missing from the stable where about five horses were kept.”
He said the complainant told the police that he was suspecting the arrested suspect, a resident of Zaria, Kaduna State whom he said had been visiting the farm for horse grooming and racing.
Abiodun said during interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime, saying that he moved the two horses to a nearby bush from the farm, before he later hired a vehicle from a park to move them to Kaduna at a cost of N100.000.
