The police in Benue State have arrested 85 suspected criminals from different locations across the state within the last three months.
The Commissioner of Police (CP), Bartholomew Onyeka, on Tuesday, who noted that the feat was achieved between July 1 and September 30, 2023, said the suspects were arrested for various crimes ranging from kidnapping, culpable homicide, armed robbery, cultism, rape to unlawful possession of firearms.
He said that within the period, 14 suspected kidnappers were apprehended while seven of their victims were rescued.
He added that 21 suspects were nabbed for culpable homicide, eight for armed robbery and five in connection with rape, while seven were being held for unlawful possession of firearms.

Onyeka further disclosed that within the period under review, 12 locally made pistols, four AK-47 rifles, four single/double-barrel guns, 160 ammunition and four cartridges were recovered from the suspects.
