The Borno State Internal Revenue Service (BO-iRS) said it has come up with policies that would assist in fishing out companies and individuals that have over time defaulted in paying taxes in the state.
Head of legal and Enforcement/Board Secretary of BO-iRS, Barr. Ardo Buba (Esq) told Daily Trust in Maiduguri yesterday.
He said that it has developed a method and is working closely with other stakeholders in line with its statutory powers to ensure that tax evaders comply accordingly.
“We are out to ensure that people pay their taxes as at when due, so there is no hiding place for tax evaders in the state because the law will catch up with them. We have offices in local government areas like Biu, Bama, Monguno, and others.

“All we need to do is request information about any individual or company and we will get them, we are also working in synergy with others at the moment and we won’t allow people and companies to operate without paying their taxes. We are working to get our target done. We are about 75 percent now.” Barr. Buba declared.
