The Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Paul Okpe, has said that 92 persons were killed in road accidents across the state between January and September this year.
Mr Okpe disclosed this during the 2023 Ember Months campaign aimed at sensitising motorists and other road users on the need to imbibe safety attitudes on the road.
He said, “From January to September this year we recorded a total of 150 accidents with 92 persons killed and 436 injured.”
He noted that the casualty figures were an improvement compared to last year’s casualties, adding that the sector was working to reduce and if possible have zero death rate from road accidents in the state.
