A suspected armed robber who allegedly killed a POS operator, Olasunkanmi Joseph, on Irona Street in Ado-Ekiti and took away N3.5 million from him has been arrested by the police in Ekiti State.
Parading the suspect and 16 others on behalf of the Commissioner of Police (CP) of the state command, Mr Ogundare Dare, the command’s spokesman, DSP Sunday Abutu, said one AK-47 rifle was recovered from the suspect.
Abutu noted that the rifle was part of those stolen during the attack and setting ablaze of Again Divisional Police headquarters in Ikere-Ekiti during the #EndSARS protest in 2020.
DSP Abutu said the other suspects were cultists and armed robbers who were arrested on September 15, in their hideout in Ikere-Ekiti while planning a robbery attack.

He further said, “During interrogation, the suspects confessed to be members of the Supreme Rite Confraternity.
“Effort is on for possible arrest of fleeing members of the gang.”
