The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) yesterday explained how three passengers who were trapped when a 40ft container fell on their vehicle.
City & Crime reports that the accident happened at the popular Ojuelegba Bridge which is notorious for container accidents.
The last was in January when a container truck fell on a fully loaded bus, killing nine people.
Our correspondent learnt that another tragedy was averted at the same spot on Sunday night when the containerised truck fell on a Toyota Corolla.

LASEMA said it received a distress call from the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) on Sunday, September 24, and immediately activated its emergency response plan.
Upon arrival at the scene, it was observed that a containerised truck conveying a 40ft container fell on a silver coloured Toyota Corolla with registration number JJJ811FV.
According to the agency, the three occupants of the car (two adult males and one adult female) were trapped under the truck.
The Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke- Osanyintolu, said the agency’s response teams from Onipanu and Cappa extricated the three trapped victims and rescued them.
He disclosed that the Agency’s paramedics and LASAMBUS immediately stabilised and administered first aid to the three rescued victims and subsequently took them to the Trauma Centre.
The permanent secretary advised truck drivers/owners to ensure that their trucks are roadworthy in order to forestall crashes that endanger people’s lives, adding that “truck drivers should obey all traffic rules and regulations.”
