Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested six suspected kidnappers for allegedly kidnapping one Adigun Taiwo, his wife and workers on a farm.
Parading the suspects, the command’s spokesman, Chidi Nwabuzor, said the suspects were arrested by the anti-kidnapping and cyber-crime unit while acting on credible information using technical IMEI analysis of one of the victim’s phone.
HeHe said four of the suspects, Aliyu Haruna (42), Abu Saisu (24), Umaru Muhammed (34) and Bello Lawal (30), were arrested in Ugbenu-Oghara by Koko junction in Delta State in connection with the kidnap.
He said the police later arrested the gang leader of the kidnapping syndicate, Zakari Ibrahim (25), and his accomplice, Musa Mohammed (27). listed items recovered from the suspects to include 110 rounds of live AK-47 ammunition and one axe, adding that the suspects confessed to being members of a kidnapping syndicate terrorising Edo and Delta states.
