The Yobe State Police Command has expressed worry over the upsurge and rampant rape cases across the 17 LGAs of the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Garba, told journalists after the state’s security meeting with the Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Gubana, that many cases involving minors and teenagers were being reported at the command in recent times.
He said the command would engage religious and community leaders for sensitisation meant to preach about the danger of rape, noting that proper sensitiaation and prosecution were the only solutions to the menace.
