Nigeria army offers free treatment to 1,000 persons

Over 1,000 residents of Rumeme community in Obio Akpor Local Government Area  of Rivers State have  benefited from the medical outreach carried out by the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt.

The medical outreach was part of events marking Army Day celeberation in Port Harcourt.

Speaking at  the event,  the General  Officer commanding 6 Division of the Nigerian Army , Major  General Enobong  Udoh  said more than 1,000 residents were treated of various ailments  while HIV screening and health education was carried out to enlighten the participants on what to do to maintain healthy living.

Major General Udoh who was represented by Commander of Military Hospital, Port Harcourt, Audu Jimmie Enogela called on residents of Port Harcourt to take care of their health by going for medical check up always.

One of the beneficiaries of the medical outreach, Peter  Chindah commended the army for providing free  medical services to the people of the area.
