A man, Sani Shuaibu, has confessed to stealing a dog and selling it for N3,500 to buy a pair of shoes in Yola North LGA of Adamawa State.
Speaking during a visit by the Jail Delivery Committee led by the Chief Judge (CJ) of the state, Justice Hapsat Abdulrahaman, to the Yolde Medium Security Custodial Centre, Sani confessed that he stole the dog in his community and sold it to a man and used the money to buy a pair of shoes.
Sani, who had spent several months in prison, was among 223 awaiting trial inmates released by the committee after confessing to their crimes.

While warning Sani and the others not to commit crime in the future, Justice Hapsat stressed that the committee would not show them mercy if they were arrested for other crimes.
