President Bola Tinubu has clocked up 100 days since he took over from former President Muhamamdu Buhari on May 29, 2023.
The government has since taken some hard decisions in line with its policies and programmes.
One of these is the removal of some principal officers who served under the Buhari administration.
Below are some personalities who were removed from office by President Tinubu:

Godwin Emefiele
As soon as he assumed office, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu suspended the immediate past Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele on June 9.
However, the president ordered for Emefiele’s probe.
The government said it was investigating Emefiele’s office as part of the planned reforms in the economy’s financial sector.
Emefiele had played a key role in the currency redesign programme and cashless policy introduced in the build-up to the elections to limit vote-buying by politicians.
Bawa
The immediate past Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, was also suspended by Tinubu on July 14, 2023.
The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) said Bawa’s suspension was over weighty allegations of abuse of office.
Bawa has been in detention “to allow for proper investigation into his conduct while in office”, according to the government.
Service Chiefs
On June 19, President Bola Tinubu fired all service chiefs appointed by his predecessor.
The service chiefs were General Lucky Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff; Chief of Army Staff, Farouk Yahaya; Chief of Naval Staff, Awwal Gambo; Chief of Air Staff, Isiaka Amao; and the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali.
Babagana Monguno
The immediate past National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno was replaced with Nuhu Ribadu the same day President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ended the stay of the service chiefs in office.
Nuhu Ribadu was previously appointed Special Adviser to the President on Security Matters before he was upgraded to the National Security Adviser.
NASENI Boss
Dr Bashir Gwandu, the immediate past Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) was not spared by Tinubu’s ‘axe.’ Dr Gwandu was among the beneficiaries of the last-minute appointments of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Lauretta Onochie
In August, President Tinubu disbanded the board and management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) led by Lauretta Onochie. She was nominated by former President Buhari to lead the board in November 2022.
NIMC’s Aziz sent on compulsory leave
President Bola Tinubu some days ago directed the Director-General/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. Aliyu Abubakar Aziz, to commence 90-day pre-retirement leave.
He was replaced with Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the Acting Director-General/CEO of the commission.
