Xinhua seeks partnership with Media Trust Group

“The first partner he wants to reach while he is in Nigeria is expecting to meet our colleagues in Daily Trust during his stay in Nigeria. He will stay from 18th to 20th of September. So, I would appreciate it if you could have some time to discuss this.

“I am sure his visit will definitely enhance our cooperation, not just text news and photo news, but we can extend it to the area of video news and even audio. Just recently, we launched audio news stories for Africa. I think this is also a chance that we can expand our relationship,’’ he said.

In his remarks, the Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Trust, Naziru Mikailu, expressed delight in the audio service Xinhua launched for Africa.

He said: “Some of these audios will help us in telling some of these international stories and we will be getting our stories from African countries.

“How we can deepen the relationship, especially in accessing some of your video contents because we have a TV that is interested in covering international stories, not only in Nigeria. So, some of your international and regional stories and videos are of interest to us.

“We also have reporters from parts of the country. You’re also at liberty to use some of the content we produce that you find interesting. Or if you want additional content or clean photos from our own end that our reporters filmed, we’re more than happy to give you access so that you can reach our own stories.’’

Zhen said he would deepen the cordial relationship between Media Trust Group and Xinhua.
