‘Why we are celebrating presidential appointees from Katsina’

Katsina State indigenous resident in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja have organised a dinner reception in honor of the state’s indigenes appointed as ministers and special advisers by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The convener of the event, Sen. Ibrahim Ida Wazirin Katsina, said the dinner was to celebrate and appreciate the presidential appointees.

“We’re going to ensure that they serve Nigeria very well because by doing so they’ll reflect the good values that Katsina people have. They should know there’s entrance and exit, the way they come, one day they’ll go. It’s what they’ve done in between that would determine the legacies they leave behind. It’s their time now to ensure that by the time they leave, they leave Nigeria a better place than the way they found it.”

A pioneer Chairman of the Jaiz Bank, who was also the chairman of the ceremony, Umaru Abdulmutallab, charged the appointees to discharge their duties with honesty and diligence to the benefit of the state and the country in general.

“They should interact with their staff, so that they can learn certain things which they mayn’t understand. They’re not civil servants so they should make sure they interact very well with their officials particularly the permanent secretaries and the directors, otherwise they’ll put them into a lot of problems because they’re there before them  and will be there after they leave.

And they should be patriotic to the country,” he added.

The honored appointees were: Minister of Housing & Urban Development; Arch. Ahmed Dangiwa, Minister of Arts, Culture & Creativity; Hannatu Musa Musawa, Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters; Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari, and Special Adviser on Policy Coordination; Hadiza Bala Usman.
