“Our community is surrounded by water streams and rivers which make it extremely difficult for our people to access basic life amenities like hospitals, schools and markets especially during the rainy season. We have experienced quite a number of tragedies due to lack of bridge to cross over to Tofa town because of a popular and notorious “Yasanya” river which had been strong barrier to accessing Kano metropolis,” he said.

He explained that many pregnant women from the village had either given birth or even died at Yasanya river bank, adding that school children in some communities had to give up during the rainy season.

He urged the community leadership and the local government authorities to name the bridge after the deputy senate president as a form of gratitude and appreciation.
