IPAC calls for postponement of LG elections in Yobe

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has asked the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission to shift the proposed local government elections scheduled for November this year.

The state chairman of IPAC, Comrade Bala Mohammed, made this call yesterday at a press conference in Damaturu, the state capital, saying the commission should fix a new date after the harvesting period.

He said, “The 17 undersigned state chairmen of the various political parties, want the state electoral commission to shift the proposed election for obvious reasons to allow the electorate to actively participate in the exercise.”
