Engr Jimoh Olayinka, father of Mohammed who was chased to death by a dog in Kwara State last month, has said he is still devastated by the incident but described it as the will of Allah.
The late Mohammed Jimoh had gone to buy noodles at a shop in his neighbourhood, Asa Dam area of Ilorin, when he was chased by a neighbour’s dog and fell.
He was however pronounced dead some minutes after he was taken to hospital.
But the father had absolved the owner of the dog over the incident and reportedly stopped any further prosecution accepting the incident as “destined”.

But in a text message to our correspondent, Engr Jimoh said “It was like a dream for me to believe that you are no more with me again.
“You lived a simple and pious life, so sweet and gentle soul you have. You will forever be in our hearts.
“I was devastated when you felt ill. In a matter of minutes, the smile on your face disappeared and was replaced by gloom.
“I remember I couldn’t leave your side for one second. I will never forget that fateful Thursday morning when you answered the call of Almighty Allah. The cruel hand of death has snatched you away from us.
“Very painful indeed after much thoughts and trouble to the end, I now realize that the Almighty Allah is the owner of life, who gives and takes, and does things at will,” he added.
