The Bauchi State government has declared war against illegal felling of trees and charcoal business to tackle challenges of flood with devastating consequences and insecurity.
Governor Bala Mohammed stated this yesterday during the launching of the 2023 Tree Planting campaign held at Dungal village in Bauchi.
The governor said that the state government is overwhelmed by activities of criminals who are bent on the illegal felling of trees that resulted to problems of deforestation, erosion and flood.

The governor called on all the stakeholders in the state to cultivate the culture of planting trees, adding that the government is working with a lot of organisations globally to plant more trees that will become a big forest, thereby safeguarding the environment.
