A former Super Falcons assistant coach, Mansur Abdullahi, has been appointed as Technical Adviser of Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Sokoto United ahead of the 2023/2024 season.
The former coach of Warri Wolves who disclosed this to Daily Trust Thursday said he was given the mandate to qualify the club for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
He said even as the task is not an easy one, he is professionally qualified and motivated to carry to succeed.
“I have just been appointed as the Technical Adviser of Sokoto United. The Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Alhaji Jamil Umar Gosta, has given me the target to qualify the club for the NPFL.
“I am ready to deliver on this mandate. However, only teamwork can make us succeed. So, while I handle the coaching aspect, the management must play its part by motivating the players.
“To win matches, a lot of things are involved so I am not going to do it alone. For me this is a new challenge and I am ready to give it my best shot.
“As far back as 2015, I served as assistant chief Coach in Plateau United and I was instrumental to their promotion to the NPFL. Today, I am more experienced and I can do much more,” said Abdullahi.
