Some Youths in Edo North have raised concern over what they described as the subtle marginalization of three local government areas of the senatorial district by Senator Adams Oshiomhole, regarding federal appointments.

The Youths under the aegis of Afemai Unity Forum described Oshiomhole’s action as a bad omen to the development of the senatorial district.

The group, in a statement signed by its leaders, Oje Ohis and Abayomi Justice, said Senator Oshiomhole’s preference for the Estako tribe for federal appointments will further divide the Afemai region.

“The unflinching loyalty, investment and contribution to the emergence of this administration in the last general election by the people of Edo North ought to be rewarded with equal distribution of federal appointments.

“Unfortunately, Senator Adams Oshiomhole has been engaging in subtle marginalization of three local government areas (Akoko-Edo, Owan East and Owan West) in federal appointments, choosing to favour his kinsmen (Estako).

“Going with information from the grapevine, Senator Oshiomhole has pencilled names of his kinsmen for appointment into federal boards.

“This action is a bad omen to the development of the district, which will further result in division in Edo North.

“Appointments into federal boards must be spread across the six LGAs in Edo North for the peace and progress of the district,” the statement reads.
