A commercial cyclist simply identified as Nura was stabbed by some suspected bike thieves at Kuchiako village in Kuje Area Council of the FCT.
A resident of Kuje, Yahaya Kabir, said the incident happened on Tuesday night around 9:12pm when the victim was conveying two men to Kuchiako.
He said the two men who pretended to be passengers, upon arriving at a cashew farm, some few metres away from Kuchiako, forcefully stopped the cyclist and one of them brought out a knife and stabbed him on the neck.
He said the victim, who was crying for help in a pool of blood, was later rescued by some members of ‘okada’ riders and taken to the hospital in Kuje.
City & Crime also gathered that a similar incident happened last Thursday, when another cyclist was attacked with a knife along Gauge village and the attackers escaped with his motorcycle.
There was no official response from the spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, DSP Adeh Josephine, over the incident as at the time of filing the report.
