Why I didn’t conduct LG elections as Anambra governor — Obi

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25 election, Mr Peter Obi, has explained why he didn’t conduct local government elections while he was governor of Anambra State.

Obi said he was prevented from conducting the local government elections through court litigation.

The former governor disclosed this during the party’s mega rally in Benin to galvanise support for LP candidates ahead of the September 2, local government elections in Edo State.

Obi said, “As Anambra governor, I was prevented by arms of legal and litigation from conducting local government elections for over six years in the state.”
