Explore herbs to fight malaria, Delta urges technical group

The Delta State Government has inaugurated a Malaria Technical Working Group with a charge to explore the known traditional herbs in the fight against malaria.

City & Crime reports that the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Kingsley Emu, who inaugurated the group in his office in Asaba, noted that history had shown that such treatment was effective.

Emu charged the members of the group to focus more on preventive measures rather than the curative ones so as to ensure that the breeding ground for mosquitoes was taken care of, noting that the preventive measures would also ensure that less persons were infected.
