NSCDC nabs suspected rustlers in Jigawa

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested two suspected rustlers, Abdullahi Buba (25), of Garin Dole, Itas Gadau LGA, Bauchi State; and Yuse Alhaji Jubril (29), of Bursari, Dapchi LGA, Yobe State.

This was contained in a statement by the command’s spokesman, Adamu Shehu, who said, “Abdullahi Buba was arrested when he went to the residence of one Alhaji Umar Mande situated behind AA Rano, Kiyawa LGA, at about 0100hrs with the intention of stealing cow(s) but was caught by the owner who kept vigil together with neighbours and family members in anticipation of catching the thief that had earlier been stealing their cows. According to Alhaji Umar, five cows were stolen from him and three from his neighbour, Alhaji Hardo, all valued at over N2,000,000.”

“Investigation revealed that Abdullahi, together with his accomplices, including Yusuf, Sabo, Umaru and Shu’aibu, had been stealing cows between Kiyawa LGA, Jigawa; and Azare town, Bauchi State.

“He confessed to have stolen five cows at various places and with the assistance of Yusuf Alhaji Jubril (driver). The cows were transported to Kano to one Alhaji Mustapha (at large) at Dorawar Na’abba who got them disposed of and then shared the booty accordingly.

“In fact, it is Alhaji Mustapha that owns the vehicle that is being used by Yusuf for such purposes.”
