A bus conductor, whose identity was yet to be known, was killed while four other passengers sustained injuries after a J5 bus collided with a DAF trailer loaded with banana near Gada-Biyu on the Abuja-Lokoja highway.
A witness, who noted that the accident happened around 3am on Tuesday, explained that the bus which was coming from the Lokoja axis was overtaking another vehicle when it collided with the trailer coming from the Abuja axis.
Our reporter, who was at the scene, gathered that the accident was as a result of a diversion to pave way for the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to carry out repairs on a bridge.
An FRSC official, who spoke with our reporter at the scene on condition of anonymity, confirmed the death of one person and injury of four others.
