The management of the Benue State-owned transport company, Benue Links, has disclosed plans to introduce taxi services in the Makurdi metropolis.
Our correspondent reports that Makurdi, the state capital, does not operate a taxi service, making it difficult for most residents to navigate some routes in the town where commercial buses or motorcycles do not ply.

The Secretary General of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees, Comrade Gabriel Tachia, who disclosed this to our correspondent, said, “We will introduce taxis, as well as train our drivers on safety tips, as some are already undergoing training with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abuja, and lastly, enhance driver- passenger relationship.”
