Kano court remands man for threatening to kill neighbour who testified against his brother

A Kano State magistrates’ court has remanded a man, Aminu Adamu Fagge, in prison for allegedly threatening to kill his neighbor, Abdulkarim Jibrin Fagge, who gave testimony against his elder brother before a court.

Aminu, a resident of Fagge LGA, was arraigned by the police after receiving a complaint from Abdulkarim that he threatened to kill him.

He is standing trial on two count charges of frightening people and attempting to commit murder.

Lawyer to the complainant, Barrister Ibrahim Aris Garba, told the court that the defendant had been attempting to kill his client for standing as a witness against his elder brother who committed a murder.

He told the court that his client was invited by the court to give witness as the incident happened in his presence.

When the charges were read to him, he pleaded guilty.

The Magistrate, Farouk Umar Ibrahim Fagge, ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison and adjourned the case to September 7.
