Outrage has trailed the death of a medical doctor, Vwaere Diaso at a General Hospital belonging to Lagos State government.
This is just as the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), yesterday, directed its members to proceed on indefinite strike.
The medical doctor died at the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos Island when the elevator she used crashed from the 9th floor to the ground floor.
Sources said the late doctor was immediately rushed to the emergency ward of the hospital where she eventually gave up.

The incident which generated outrage on social media over alleged negligence on the part of the hospital also drew protests from her colleagues at the hospital.
Her colleagues told our correspondent that the death was avoidable.
It was gathered that the deceased, who was the only one inside the elevator at the time of the accident, had only two weeks left to complete her housemanship.
One of the protesters said that she lost a lot of blood but would have survived the crash if she got timely medical attention.
“It took her colleagues about 40 minutes to force the elevator’s door open and before help could reach her she had lost a lot of blood,” the source said.
As at the time of filing in this report, her colleagues carrying placards protested her death and gave management of the hospital 48 hours to investigate the matter.
Dr. Adeyemi Adesusi Andrew during a chat with Daily Trust said that “If they bring out those responsible for the accident, then justice must have been served but if not….”
It was learnt that the elevator had malfunctioned several times before Tuesday’s incident.
Meanwhile, the NMA in Lagos has expressed deep mourning over the death while demanding an inquiry into the death.
The NMA also declared a five-day mourning period while demanding for “An immediate, unbiased investigation into the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident.”
The NMA in a statement by its Chairman, Dr. Benjamin Olowojebutu and Secretary, Dr. Ismail Ajibowo, said all those found culpable must be brought to justice.
