Tukur Sale, a jealous husband, and his younger brother, Ibrahim Sale, have been accused of killing a man over suspicion of having an illicit affair with Tukur’s wife.
The 20-year-old Tukur and 19-year-old Ibrahim allegedly beat Usman Sale to death with sticks after he was caught red-handed with Tukur’s wife.
The Chief Magistrates’ Court I in Yola has remanded the defendants arraigned before it by the prosecutor, Inspector Zakka Musa.
Magistrate Alheri Ishaku remanded the duo and adjourned the case until July 27, 2023, after the defendants admitted killing Usman.

Inspector Zakka informed the court that the defendants had attacked the deceased with cutlasses and sticks on June 30, 2023, which led to his demise contrary to sections 60 and 141 of the penal code law.
The victim was rushed to Cottage Hospital in Fufore town, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
During court proceedings, Tukur narrated that he had warned Usman on several occasions to stop going out with his wife, but Usman refused.
He said he trailed his victim after he had sighted him with his wife, whom he had married just last year, and a quarrel ensued.
He further stated that it was Usman who started beating him with a stick.
The defendant also narrated that he was assisted by his younger brother, Ibrahim, where they mangled Usman to death and denied using a cutlass on him.
