Man charged with theft of 12 pairs of slippers

A 28-year-old man, Abdulkadir Musa, on Wednesday, appeared before a Sharia Court sitting in Kano for allegedly stealing 12 pairs of rubber slippers worth N18,000.

The prosecutor, Insp Abdullahi Wada, told the court that the complainant, Sunusi Mamuda, who resided at the Fagge Quarters like the defendant, reported that on June 30, at 6pm the defendant stole his 12 pairs of rubber slippers worth N18,000.

He noted that the defendant worked in the complainant’s shop in Kwari Market where he stole the pairs of slippers.

After the defendant pleaded guilty to the charge, the Judge, Malam Umar Lawal Abubakar, admitted him to bail in the sum of N10,000 and adjourned the case to July 18.
