Army treats patients in Ogun

The 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army (NA), Alamala, on Wednesday conducted a one-day medical outreach in Ijaye community in Abeokuta North LGA of Ogun State as part of the 2023 Army Day Celebration (NADCEL).

The exercise witnessed a large turnout of residents who took advantage of the free medical outreach to access tests and treatment for different ailments like eye problems, high blood pressure and general medical checkup.

Drugs were later administered, including eye glasses, and treated nets were distributed to pregnant women.

He explained that the army decided to give back to the community, especially its host community, in an effort to improve military-civilian relationship.

He appreciated the community and the state for the support accorded the army so far.

Aminu, therefore, implored the people to continue to cooperate and support the military and other security agencies, particularly in providing timely information, saying security remained a collective responsibility.

He disclosed that NADCEL was also an opportunity to remember officers and soldiers who died in the service of the nation and also reach out to their families.

He further said, “We are visiting orphanages tomorrow to distribute items in continuation of the celebration.”
