An area court sitting in Centre-Igboro, Ilọrin, Kwara State, has refused to grant a romantic union dissolution request by one James Daniel.
Daniel had approached the court seeking the dissolution of his 25-year-old relationship with his lover, Tosin Akinrinade, accusing her of stubbornness.
He told the court that he had a misunderstanding with her which made her destroy some of his belongings and sell others without his consent.
Daniel, a father of two, pleaded with the court to separate the union to allow him to live a peaceful life.

The Judge, Aminullahi AbdulLateef, turned down the request, saying the court could not grant dissolve a relationship that had no official backing, noting that the applicant and the respondent were not married officially.
He ordered that the respondent be served in order for her to respond to the claims and adjourned to August 14, 2023.
