The trials, which were originally planned to take place from July 6–8, will now take place in Benin City at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium from Wednesday, July 5, to Friday, July 7. According to reports, the new date was chosen to allow Nigeria’s relay teams to compete at the Region 2 Athletics Competitions in Togo, which had conflicted with the date of the Nigerian trials.

The new arrival and departure dates for the trials are now Tuesday, July 4 and Saturday, July 8.
