Fire razes building in Gwarinpa

A building has been razed by fire in Gwarinpa but no life was lost but  the  boy’s quarters of the building on 35 Road was destroyed.

A police source said the occupants of the building near Samsung office in the area were not inside when the fire started at about 5:00a.m. on Wednesday.

A source said the security guard reported the incident at the police station.

Gwarinpa Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nuruddeen Sabo, said he informed fire wardens about the incident.

“Patrol teams rushed to the scene, cordoned the area and with combined efforts of our men and fire service personnel the fire was quenched,” he said.

He said preliminary investigation showed that the fire was caused by an electric spark.
