A businesswoman, Mujidat Otefila, who was abducted on Saturday by gunmen in Imeko-Afon, Ogun State, has regained her freedom after payment of N8m ransom.
A relative told our correspondent on Monday that the kidnappers demanded a N30m ransom but later reduced it to N15m.
The source said that the husband of the victim later negotiated and paid N8m to secure the release of his wife.
The kidnappers on Saturday abducted the businesswoman and her daughter but later abandoned the daughter and the vehicle.

The source said, “She was released in the Republic of Benin. They hid her in a bush between Nigeria and the Republic of Benin.
“Initially, they requested N30m, later they reduced it to N15m. The husband agreed on N8m.”
When contacted, the police spokesman in the state, Omolola Odutola, said, “The command is not privy to that information.”
