Man charged with N.926m fraud in Ogun

The police on Monday arraigned a 40-year- old man, Gbemisola Kazeem, before an Abeokuta magistrates’ court in Ogun State for allegedly defrauding a business woman, Mrs Oluwakemi Foye, of N926,000.

The prosecutor, Inspector Olaide Rawlings, told the court that the defendant sometime in January in the Laderin area of Abeokuta, collected the sum of N926,000 from the complainant, Mrs Foye, with the pretense to supply her bags  of rice  and turkeys but failed to supply them and refused to refund the money.

The prosecutor also said that the defendant threatened to kill the complainant and also conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of public peace when the complainant requested for the refund of her money.

The Magistrate, Mrs M. O. Osinbajo, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to July 13.
