The Speaker House of Representatives, Abbas Tajuddeen, has constituted seven committees to run the affairs of the house pending the establishment of the over 100 committees.
He inaugurated the committees during plenary on Wednesday.
The speaker said the committees were statutory and would run the affairs of the new assembly as it prepares to embark on its constitutional duties for Nigerians.
The committees are; Internal Security headed by Mohammed Danjuma Hassan (NNPP, Kano) with Alao Ayodeji (APC,Oyo) as deputy chairman; Selection Committee headed by the speaker and deputy speaker while state caucuses present one nominee each.

Also, the Media and Publicity committee was inaugurated, chaired by Khadija Bukar Abba (APC,Yobe) while Ikenga Ugo Chinyere (PDP, Imo) serves as deputy chairman.
Others are; Legislative Agenda, with Prof. Julius Ihonbvare as chairman; Rules & Business, chaired by Igariwe Iduma (PDP, Ebonyi); Ethics and Privileges, chaired by Abdulraheem Olawuyi (APC, Kwara) and Welfare Committee with Wale Raji (APC, Lagos) as chairman.
The house also adjourned sitting until July 4, 2023. The 10th House of Representatives was inaugurated last Tuesday and held its inaugural plenary on Wednesday.
