The management of Jos Electricity Distribution Company has explained why there was shortage of power in Plateau, Benue, Bauchi and Gombe states.
Daily Trust reports that there has been a shortage of power supply in franchised states of Jos DisCO in recent times.
In a statement, the Head, Corporate Communications of the company, Dr Friday Adakole Elijah, said the problem was due to the low power supply allocation from the national grid.
High level of domestic interest payment unacceptable
He said: “You may have observed load shedding in the last few days. This was because our daily allocation within this period was dropped to between 75 to 78 megawatts for our four franchise states of Bauchi, Benue, Plateau and Gombe.
“This has necessitated us to embark on load shedding of our customers in all our areas of operations in an equitable manner pending improvement in supply from the national grid.”
