Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has tasked political leaders in the country to remain committed to the Nigerian project.
He gave the advice in his message on the occasion of this year’s Democracy Day as contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed.
“This year’s Democracy Day celebration should reawaken our consciousness to the exigent task of building a prosperous and egalitarian Nigeria with strong and efficient institutions of governance,” he said.
Radda expressed gratitude to former President Muhammadu Buhari for declaring June 12 as Nigeria’s new Democracy Day in 2018, while also bestowing a posthumous national honour on the acclaimed winner of the 1993 presidential election, Moshood Abiola.
The governor emphasised the need for citizens to be patriotic and remain united, while also supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his mission to fix the country.
