The police in the FCT have arrested one Mohammed Hamza, popularly known as Auta, suspected to be a bandits’ informant, in Magoro Forest in the territory.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba, who disclosed this while parading the suspect alongside 11 others arrested for armed robbers over the weekend, said Hamza was also a wanted logistics supplier to a group of kidnappers and bandits that had been terrorising residents of the FCT and its environs.
He said exhibits recovered from the suspect included one AK-47 rifle, ammunition, one mobile phone, foodstuff and an unregistered Boxer motorcycle.
He further disclosed that the 11 other suspects were arrested for various crimes, including illegal possession of firearms, illegal fabrication and production of small arms and light weapons and armed robbery.

CP Garba, who gave names of the suspects as Daniel Williams, Mohammed Yusuf, Abdulrasheed Abdullahi, Aminu Mohammed, Sani Ibrahim, Yusuf Ilyasu, Awala Lawal, Hassan Dauda, Abbas Gidado, Shamsu Haibu, Sani Suleiman and Shehu Jimoh, said and hard drugs were recovered from some of them.”
