A mobile court attached to the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has sentenced a woman, Rukayat Oderinde, to 144 hours of community service for emptying her waste into a drain at No 17, Hassan Ogunmola Street, Ahamadiyya, a suburb of Lagos.
Mr Ibrahim Odumboni, Managing Director of LAWMA, who disclosed this in a statement, said that the culprit was caught on camera disposing waste into a drainage channel.
He said Oderinde was expected to commence her eight-hour per day community service from Ahmadiyya to Salolo route for the next 18 days.

He noted that the act was strictly prohibited under waste management regulations in the state as such posed a serious threat to the overall cleanliness and functionality of the drainage system. (NAN)
