The management of Gerawa Rice Mill in Kano State, Nigeria, has revealed that the company’s additional ultra-modern state-of-the-art rice mill with the capacity to process 560 metric tonnes per day in addition to the already existing 400 metric tonnes per day will begin operation in two months.
This was disclosed by the Managing Director of the mill, Muhammed Isyaku, when the company hosted JC 95/25 of the air force from Jaji, Kaduna State, that came on a study tour to the company.
Isyaku noted that when fully completed, the mill would be the biggest rice mill in Nigeria and the third in Africa.
He explained that the company had gradually grown to be a brand name that controlled rice production along its value chain in the country, adding that the ultra-modern mill had reached over 80 per cent and would create additional employment to a lot of people.

In his remarks, the team leader of the visiting air force, Group Captain Jo Mamman, stated that the team was happy to be in an indigenous rice mill that had a huge capacity and contributed to national economic development. He stressed that his team was satisfied with what it saw and would love to come back again on a visit to other companies in the Gerawa Group.
