Student group honours young health expert

The National Association of Northern Nigerian Students (NANNS) has awarded a Certificate of Excellence to the CEO of Sure Health Laboratory and Diagnostics, Mrs Hafsat Lawal Garba, for her impactful activities.

The award, which was presented to her in Abuja recently, was to appreciate her immense contributions to the health sector and human upliftment.

The association also stated that Hafsat was also recognised for her sagacity, diligence to duty and also her humanitarian services.

The association was represented by its officials during the presentation – Amb. Nafiu Yushau Zugachi of Bayero University Kano (BUK); Amb. Hauwau Ibrahim of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (ABU); Amb. Aliyu Yakubu of Federal University Dutse (FUD); and Amb. Aliyu Sulaiman of Usmanu Danfodio University Sokoto (UDUSK).

The association commended her vision, humility, courage, commitment to people’s well-being, growth and development, prudence, competence and charisma in all her dealings.

It also identified her as a mentor, a role model, and a pillar of support to society.

Her laboratory is said to be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, serving over 3,000 clients and with over 8,000 test results within its first year of operations.

While expressing her appreciation, Mrs Garba said she is collaborating with independent bodies such as the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the fight against drug abuse among teenagers and young adults.

She also mentioned the need for organizations to recognize and encourage them as key players in the private health sector.
