FG fails to complete Kaduna-Kano, Lagos-Ibadan roads, 2nd Niger Bridge as promised

The federal government failed to complete the Kaduna-Zaria Kano Highway, the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and the Second Niger Bridge projects on May 15 as promised.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, had last month after the Federal Executive Council meeting, said the projects, termed as President Muhammadu Buhari’s legacy projects, would be ready by May 15.

He had said “The Minister of Works brought approval for the ongoing bypassing, I think along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, but the good thing about this project is that we can very confidently and proudly announce that the Kano-Zaria 137km and the Zaria-Kaduna, 73km will be handed over to us on May 15. Ditto the Second Niger Bridge will be handed over to us on May 15, the Lagos-Ibadan 116km, with toll gates, will be handed over to us on April 30.”
