The Minister of the FCT, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello, has reassured the staff of the FCT Administration (FCTA) of the government’s commitment in ensuring their welfare, disclosing that the administration has finished arrangements to begin the payment of 40 per cent salary increment in May as approved by the federal government.
The minister, who gave the assurance at the annual FCTA Staff Recognition Award, while congratulating the awardees, encouraged them to do more and charged other members of staff to emulate their spirit of hard work and diligence.
The minister, who was represented by the Minister of State, Dr Ramatu Tijjani-Aliyu, acknowledged that the FCTA/FCDA staff had continued to make huge contributions to the development of the FCT, being the Centre of Unity.
The FCTA Permanent Secretary, Olusade Adesola, noted that the 40 per cent salary increment was to be paid to all FCT staff across the secretariats, departments and agencies on the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS).

Earlier, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOS), Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, while commending the FCTA for implementing the reward and recognition system, noted that it had always been in the civil service rules but neglected until the implementation of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP 25) 2017.
