Police partner Cosgrove to build houses for DIGs

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, has performed the groundbreaking ceremony of the redevelopment of a DIG Quarters, tagged MD Yusuf Quarters, located in the Maitama District, Abuja.

The IG, on Wednesday at the site, expressed confidence in the technical expertise and financial capability of Cosgrove Investment Limited to deliver a world-class smart-gated community of six-bedroom villas for the senior officers of the police management team.

He emphasised the need for senior police officers to live in befitting homes, stating that some houses had already been built for junior staff and other ranks in the police through collaboration with other estate developers.

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cosgrove, Mr Umar Abdullahi, in a statement, described the ceremony as historic for Cosgrove and its stakeholders and assured that the redevelopment of the DIG Quarters would be impactful.

He acknowledged the important role of police officers in national stability, adding that the project aimed at improving their living conditions.
