Irabor’s committee set to sanction erring referees

At least eleven referees from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and Nigeria National League (NNL) have been summoned by the Referees Appointment Committee to appear before a probe committee following their questionable performances on the pitch.

It will be noted that during the season, some referees have been reprimanded for dubious actions while carrying out their duties.

Now, a new set of match officials have been summoned before the referee committee which is slated to hold at the Conference Hall of the Nigeria Football Federation headquarters, in Abuja, on Friday, May 19.

Others to face possible sanctions are Kosoko Sikiru and Ismaila Abubakar for the way they handled the Kwara United vs Nasarawa United clash.

The NNL whistle men to face sanctions are Sunny Chibendu, Gabriel Otolorin, Abu Danzaria (Referees Assessor), Shaarni Guza, Jamilu Abdullahi and Garba Hamza for their roles in the  Vandrezzer vs Warri Wolves, Ijebu United vs Crown FC, Jigawa Golden Stars vs Katsina United and Yobe Desert Stars vs DMD FC games respectively.
